If it’s really “just another f***ing blog” then why bother to write it?
Is “because I can” a good enough reason?
Primarily this blog exists because Tom Bridge identified that I didn’t have enough to do in my day (ha!) and was spending enough time commenting at DC Metblogs that I may as well come write for them. What the hell, I figured - I seem to be unable to shut up (ahem) so I may as well give my semi-creative desires a focused outlook. So I agreed and he pointed me to the Metblogs signup page.
Which asked me for a link to my personal blog.
Huh.
Since I didn’t really have one, excepting for a half-assed photoblog on Blogger, I figured I’d better set one up. So I bought donwhiteside.com and set up wordpress, which I now marginally-diligently keep up-to-date and post to.
The end result is a sporadic collection of some ranting that I need to get off my chest, links to things that amuse or interest me and that I want to be able to find later, the occassional photo and very little else. I’d write more if I thought more people would bother to look which demands the question “why would anyone look unless you write more?” This is entirely true, however that also begs the question “would anyone look if you did write more?”
I suspect the answer is no, therefor I don’t.
But if you’re here you’re certainly welcome. Over on the sidebar are links to other things going on in my life and projects that get more active attention and time, such as the Nice Mirror business that Susan and I do when we start to feel like we might get some relaxing done. Any who knows, maybe I’ll want to remember some things that you care to read about?
