If you’re in a place where you have never noticed the interesting (well, to me) ways that snow melts perhaps you consider yourself lucky.

The other night I got home about an hour after my roommate had and noticed the hood of his car. We had a fairly hard snow coming down at that point and as it landed on his recently driven car it melted unevenly, more or less an inverse representation of the reinforcement of the hood. You can clearly see where the crossbeams are and how they blocked more of the radiant heat from his hot engine as it cooled and the snow landed.

So I am wandering past our CFO’s office last week and he calls me over to see something.

The something in this case is this…. odd … letter. Someone has stuffed a few news clippings into a manilla envelope and sent it to us. Well, not US I suppose – as far as I know we do not as a whole constitute “Jew Murderers.” Admittedly one of the company founders is jewish and we have some ex-military and really, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? But I am pretty sure as an organization we’re pretty much killing-free.

So given the lack of a person or company name it’s not real clear if this is meant for us or some prior tenants of the suite, though I think the previous tenants were in the water purification business. Maybe that’s just what they WANTED us to think…
